ID Badge Application Process
Restricted Area Pass (RAP) and Temporary Pass
To obtain a Restricted Area Pass (RAP) or Temporary Pass, you must have clearance from the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, who is the issuing authority for RAPs. The processes are outlined below:
New Application
All applicants are required to complete the RAP First Issue Form and the Security Awareness Training (“SAT”) course, offered by the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago Aviation Training Centre. Kindly contact (868) 642 4027 for further information.
Before starting the application process, please ensure that you have the following documents
Trinidad and Tobago citizen born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Valid Form of Identification
- A request letter from your employer signed by the authorized signing officer of the company.
- A Certificate of Character (CoC) issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. Click here to apply.
- Not exceeding three (3) months from date of issue.
- If, over the past five (5) years, you spent between six (6) and twenty-four (24) months (consecutive or cumulative) outside of Trinidad and Tobago, please bring the following documents:
- Police certificates (for any country where you have spent six (6) consecutive months or more)
- A copy of your Security Awareness Training (SAT) certificate
- A background check report from one of the authorised service providers.
Note that:
- Your authorized signing officer must sign the application form.
- You must sign the application and upload the corresponding supporting documents.
- Make sure to bring the original copies of all supporting documents that previously uploaded.
A person born in Trinidad and Tobago but residing outside the country
- Valid Form of Identification
- A request letter from your employer signed by the authorized signing officer of the company
- A completed Application for Security I.D, which must also be signed by the company’s authorized signing officer.
- A Certificate of Character (CoC) issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. Click here to apply.
- Not exceeding three (3) months from date of issue.
- If, over the past five (5) years, you spent between six (6) and twenty-four (24) months (consecutive or cumulative) outside of Trinidad and Tobago, please bring the following documents:
- Police certificates (for any country where you have spent six (6) consecutive months or more)
- A copy of your Security Awareness Training (SAT) certificate
- A background check report from one of the authorised service providers.
- One (1) of the following documents depending on your status:
- Trinidad and Tobago Identification Card
- Certificate of Immigration Status
- Resident Certificate
Note that:
- Your authorized signing officer must sign the application form.
- You must sign the application and upload the corresponding supporting documents.
- Make sure to bring the original copies of all supporting documents that previously uploaded.
Foreign national
- Valid Form of Identification
- A request letter from your employer signed by the authorized signing officer of the company
- A completed Application for Security I.D, which must also be signed by the company’s authorized signing officer.
- A copy of your Security Awareness Training certificate
- Valid passport
- CSME certificate
- If you do not own a passport, please bring a government issued ID
- Valid work permit
- If, over the past five (5) years, you spent over twenty-four (24) cumulative months outside of Trinidad and Tobago, please bring the following documents:
- Police certificate
Note that:
- Your authorized signing officer must sign the application form.
- You must sign the application and upload the corresponding supporting documents.
- Make sure to bring the original copies of all supporting documents that previously
uploaded.
Renewal
Whether your RAP is expiring soon, or has already expired, you must submit the following documents:
Documents required
- Valid Form of Identification
- A request letter from your employer
- A completed renewal form
Please note that:
- Your security Background check expires after three (3) years.
- Your Certificate of Character expires after four (4) years.
Temporary ID Badge
A temporary pass with photo will be issued to a person who:
- is awaiting security clearance which will allow him or her, under certain conditions, to enter the restricted area; or
- will be working at Piarco or ANR Robinson International Airport for a limited time (e.g., under a temporary work contract).
There is an obligation of the person to be escorted at all times by a RAP holder.
Instructions To Applicants
- The Security Pass Application Form of your choice must be downloaded, completed, and all mandatory fields filled out. These forms are available for download below.
- The Application Form must be accompanied by the following supporting documents, if applicable
- PASSPORT SIZED PHOTO
- TERMS & CONDITION FORM – TEMPORARY APPLICATION
- ORIGINAL COPY OF POLICE CERTIFICATE OF CHARACTER
- The “Terms and Conditions” must be agreed to and signed by the Applicant.

APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY PASS
The following documents are required:
- Valid Form of Identification
- A letter, printed on company letterhead and signed by an authorized signing officer of the company, explaining why you require access to the restricted area, and stating the duration of your contract.
- A completed Application for Temporary Passes form
- It is important that the employer or the company signing authority complete ALL fields in Part A of the form. You, the applicant, are responsible for completing Part B. Only the signed original of the form will be accepted.
- A signed Terms and Condition form
