A visit to the island of Trinidad is not complete without a visit to Maracas Bay. Located on the north coast of the island, it is the embodiment of the slogan “sun, sea and sand” where visitors can enjoy a mountainous and scenic thirty minute drive from the country’s capital city of Port-of-Spain to the bay. Upon arrival, they are warmly embraced by the tantalising aroma of freshly caught local seafood cuisine and doubles, which is curry channa, cucumber and other sauces encased with two fried flatbreads, with the main attraction being fried dough stuffed with well seasoned shark and garnished with an assortment of fruits, vegetables and condiments.
