Nylon Pool

The shallow, crystal, clear, turquoise water of the Nylon Pool seemingly comes out of nowhere, located in the middle of the ocean, with its base covered with white grounded corals. The Nylon Pool came about its name when Britain’s late Princess Margaret visited on her honeymoon in 1962 and compared the transparency of the water to her clear nylon stockings. The trip to Nylon pool is often commenced by a visit to the Buccoo Reef and the trip is almost always concluded by a trip to No Man’s Land where local dishes like curry crab and dumpling, the national dish, are served up to visitors. Activities such as swimming and snorkelling can be enjoyed with a local superstition surrounding the attraction being that the pool contains mystical rejuvenating powers..
