The Tobago Heritage Festival is a yearly jamboree of the song, dance and music of the island of Tobago. The festival is aimed at preserving and honouring the island’s unique and fascinating heritage. It is held over a two week period from mid July to Emancipation Day. The date of conclusion of the festival being Emancipation day is very symbolic as the people of Tobago along with the song and dance portrayed in this festival mainly hail from African ancestry. Over the two weeks, several exciting events are held like the Pembroke Salka Feast, Les Couteau Folk Tales and Superstition and the Ole Time Wedding.
